Kathy Gilbert is an experienced professional with a track record of delivering value. This includes the full spectrum of consulting: project leadership, program direction and change management. She has long experience with senior leadership in a wide range of industries, not for profits and the public sector. With an Executive MBA and international project management qualifications, along with an interest in policy development in government, she has many projects to her credit.  

Her stellar work in 2012 in some of Australia's largest companies cements her reputation and value to business and industry as well as the public sector.

~ As a consultant she works to improve an organisation's ability to determine, refine and implement strategy through the application of leading-practice methods and organic change management. 

She works closely with organisations to understand their environmental context, and to plan, implement, mitigate against risk and assure quality of improvements within a business or enterprise-wide program of work. 


~ As a manager or interim manager Kathy supports organisational vision, mission, long and short term goals - including project deadlines - delivering on time and on budget.

Kathy brings an independent strategic business perspective to each of her assignments. Kathy has nearly twenty five years' experience managing teams and individuals. Nearly fifteen 
years' experience in ministries overseen by not-for-profit boards, as an independent business and management consultant, including more than five years in State government, demonstrates Kathy’s personal commitment to delivering policies and programs for community benefit. Her stellar work in 2012 in some of Australia's largest companies cements her reputation and value to business and industry as well as the public sector.

Contributing to Ministerial, Director-General and Cabinet level reporting in multiple State government departments demonstrates organisational agility, wide range and ability to handle high pressure work. Managing government priorities including changes to the game is her specialty and she has been commended for handling difficult assignments with no complaints, just pure professionalism.
 
Her work across agencies in strategic policy and projects including COAG initiatives, bringing together stakeholders to find the best solutions, gives her depth and networks across agencies. Her strong suit is dealing with ambiguity - a necessity for dealing in new arenas of policy - and practical development of solutions to move organisations forward. 

She has managed up to ten staff and several diverse projects representing over $96 million. She operates equally well across commercial analysis, COAG initiatives, CEO office management, and ICT strategy project management, including local divisional planning and reporting. She has operated in areas responsible for Australian Greenhouse Office and Kyoto Protocol reporting, as well as fulfilling other Australian Government liaison and reporting requirements. She has been responsible for nation-wide project work, Australian Government committee participation, representation, and liaison, as well as taking responsibility for comprehensive surveys of community stakeholders across the country foundational to project success. Besides business cases, project plans, and risk mitigation plans, she produces communication plans, media releases and Ministerial Statements for specific initiatives. 

An educator with five years' experience at university level, including third year courses in management at QUT and Bond University, s
he has taught six different courses at undergraduate university level, and over 15 different business and management courses at Diploma level at the Australian Institute of Management. See 'Teaching Profile' under 'Profile'.

Kathy says some of her most personally rewarding work has been leadership development, helping her clients and staff to develop a way forward in their personal lives and in their careers. The foundation of her courses and leadership development sessions is that individuals identify their life vision based on their values, discover their strengths and put in place a plan to accomplish their personal and professional goals.
